While it's wonderful to spend quality time and make memories with friends and family, there's just something about gifts that make it better. I mean, you spend all this time thinking about a person and what they would like, wrapping it ever-so-nicely, and anticipate the look on their face when they see what you've gotten them. Plus, you get stuff in return! It's a great way to show your friends and family that you care, to make them laugh, or to give them something that they can use.
To help you give your family and friends something they'll love, I've put together a list of items that make excellent gifts! Most of these are items that I have received as gifts, use often, and highly recommend. I wouldn't steer you wrong! 😉
The great thing about my gift guide is that it's not just holiday-focused. These gifts are good all-year! Birthdays, graduations, weddings, housewarmings - whatever the occasion, you'll find something that's sure to please!
Without further ado, I present (pun intended) my Gift Guide for the Home Cook!

Blue Apron is a meal delivery kit that brings fresh, healthy ingredients to your home. You pick the recipes you love each week, and Blue Apron will package the ingredients and recipes and deliver them right to your front door! Everything is preportioned so there's no measuring involved and no food waste. Blue Apron helps introduce you to new recipes, teaches you different techniques to cook, and supports family farms! All of its ingredients are sustainably sourced, and you can taste the difference. I love Blue Apron for the convenience, great price, and delicious meals I get to make for my husband! For the person in your life who has everything, why not give them the gift of healthy, convenient food? (Treat yourself, too! You won't regret it, Blue Apron is wonderful!)
Whether you're gifting to someone who just got their own place, only has one pan, or has a set that could use an upgrade, I recommend Rachael Ray's nonstick collection. I have had my set for 6 years now and none of them have a single scratch! They cook evenly, are non-stick, and OMG will you look at that gorgeous color!?
8x8 and 9x11. Use them as a basket and include the ingredients to a recipe, and the recipe itself! Handwrite the recipe for a personalized touch. I love my Pyrex dishes because they are super sturdy, have handles, and come with lids, which makes putting away leftovers or transporting dishes so easy!
Nonstick for easy clean-up, and won't warp in the oven! Pair these with the dry ingredients of a cookie recipe (in a jar with a ribbon!) for a great gift! Don't forget to include the recipe!
Oven mitts come in tons of pretty patterns, or go with something more fun like these bear hands! Silicone is great because it's heat resistant and easy to clean. For a gift, stick some wooden spoons or rubber spatulas inside to make a "bouquet"!
I LOVE MY GARLIC PRESS!! If you know someone who has cooked with garlic once in their life and plans to do it only once more, this press is worth it. This thing minces and peels a clove of garlic in half a second. It comes with a little brush to get it clean - but you won't have to work hard. This garlic press is very easy to clean and won't rust! I use this literally every single time I cook with garlic!
This KitchenAid 16-piece knife set is pretty damn close to the one I use. It has every kind of knife a home chef needs, a honing steel to keep the blade straight and sharp, and a pair of great kitchen scissors! A great gift for someone who just got a new place or could use an upgrade! Plus, how pretty would this look on their counter!?
These bowls have officially made my own wish list. Stainless steel mixing bowls with lids that have interchangeable graters so you can prep your ingredients quickly and with no mess! Are you kidding me? These are awesome!
We use our slow cooker (this one!) at least once a week. Slow cookers are perfect gifts for the busy mom or college student who is gone all day and may not have the energy to cook by dinnertime. Let the slow cooker cook for them!
Not just for baking anymore - the KitchenAid Stand Mixer has so many attachments that it can do just about anything! Sure, you can make your cakes and bread doughs, but you can now also make pasta, spiralize veggies, grind, mince, and process foods with this beast! Sure to last a lifetime, this is a great gift that will keep on giving!
Your gift recipient will love baking their own bread! The smell alone will have their mouths watering as it fills their home and reminds them of who made all of this possible - you. Don't forget to add in a box of bread mix so they can use it right away!
How adorable is that waffle!? Let me tell you, I have this exact waffle-maker and it puts a little magic in my day! Don't know any Mickey fans? That's okay! There are Star Wars waffle makers available, too, or go for the classic! Don't forget to add some pancake mix and syrup to complete the gift!
Fun and Functional!
Just because the kitchen is one of the most functional rooms in the house doesn't mean it needs to be boring! Make it pretty with some art - wall clings, prints, fun clocks..you name it!
This is the absolute best book for a beginner home cook. It comes with simple techniques and simple recipes that your recipient will actually be able to make! Read my full review of this book to learn more!
